A Single Man
£9.99
Isherwood's A Single Man was originally published 1964, and draws into one day in the life of an Englishman, George, working as a professor in California. He is grieving the recent death of his partner of many years, Jim, and while the novel is both heartbreaking and poignant it is not wholly grim. Instead, the encounters and circumstances of the day in which we follow George provide glimpses of possibility, of human connection, of joy and abandon and life.
