Fantasy and Sci-fi Book Club - 21/10/2026

Join us for the first meeting of our fantasy and sci-fi bookclub at Waystone Books!

The club will run from 7pm-9pm on the third Wednesday in October, the 21st. 

This is a new addition to our calendar after lots of interest in a genre-specific club. From the genre classics to new releases, tales of dystopian tragedy to cosy fantasy and romantasy, this is a book club where we’ll switch between the likes of  JRR Tolkien, Frank Herbert, and Sarah J Mass. 

We’ll begin with a bring-your-own book meeting, where you bring your favourite sci-fi, fantasy, or one of each, and we’ll go around the table to get a feel for each other's favourites. 

This will be a democratic book club, and afterwards I’ll have everyone submit (by email or on the night) the book they’d like to read and discuss with the group. After that, we’ll work through the list, and I’ll try to schedule the club to alternate between fantasy and sci-fi each month. 

Your ticket price includes a free hot drink of your choice (we'll have the espresso machine on, and do have decaf!). 

Admission and tickets for our clubs allows us to plan for an accurate number of attendees and ensure we can cover staff costs for the evening. We unfortunately cannot offer refunds for event bookings, but please do let us know if you aren't able to attend after booking a ticket.
