Dungeons and Dragons - Session Zero - 18/09/2026

If you are new to Dungeons and Dragons (D&D), can’t commit to frequent sessions or want to partake casually, that is the place for you. Our local Dungeon Master, Christy, will be hosting a series of episodic one-shots, meaning you can come and give it a go once, or drop in and out with the same character as games go by.

The first session will be session zero, which means we won’t be playing, but we'll get together to discuss the game, how it works, and make our characters.

The session will run from 7pm-9:30pm. We expect future sessions to run for approximately 3 hours, and they will be held every other Friday.

D&D is a tabletop roleplaying game - basically collective storytelling with rules and dice for an element of chance. You'll create a character and work together with other players to solve mysteries, overcome challenges, and defeat enemies. Your character could be anything from a goblin with a knack for magic to a human with a big hammer. The Dungeon Master builds the world, brings to life the other people who inhabit it, and challenges the group's skills and quick thinking by presenting obstacles and enemies to the players. 

We'll be playing 5.5 edition Dungeons and Dragons. It'll be a West Marches-inspired system, with no set party of adventurers/players. We'll be welcoming absolute newbies as well as experienced gamers, and your character won't be expected to be there for every adventure.

The cost of a ticket is £5 and includes a hot drink. You will need to bring a notebook and pencil. If you have your own dice, dice tray or other additions, feel free to bring them along. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
