By the time you're reading this, our website will be live. This is among the first public-facing steps of our journey in starting Waystone Books, and we're delighted to be sharing this milestone with you.
Waystone Books is a collaborative effort between Katy, Louis, and myself, Caroline. We're brought together by a number of things. Primarily, in the context of starting a bookshop together, a love of books and stories. But we also share a love of the place we all call home - Northwest Skye -, a desire for connection and collaboration in a bit of the country that can feel lonely in its rural-ness, and an interest in making the world a better place in any small ways we can.
Bookshops, we all believe, are magical, world-bettering machines.
Books build empathy and spark creativity. They are teachers and confidants, guides and friends. They broaden our minds and help us to explore our very souls.
We're all the sort of people who seek out a good bookshop when we visit a place, and who love to talk about our favourite stories. We have, quite frankly, too many ideas for bookclubs and meet ups in the shop, and seriously can't wait to chat stories with you.
